Our sweet Ginger was hidden in isolation at SBC (San Bernardino City Shelter) because of a benign abdominal mass. Few were able to get a glimpse of her - that stunning smile and great personality almost did not make it out! She was "due out" on November 17th, and our loving lady waited for almost a month to be rescued.
Due to a good Samaritan who alerted us to Ginger and found a foster home, we were able to pull her and get her to the vet on December 4th, where a blood panel revealed all was normal internally, a biopsy of her growth (now removed) came back as benign, and she had a much needed dental and spay. Her vet believes the mass was actually an old hematoma from some type of injury that had collected a large amount of scar tissue as it went untreated throughout the years. :(
Well, those days are in her past, and she has a chance at a whole new life now. Through it all, Ginger has been a tail-wagging love who still lives to play and also loves her snuggle time on the couch. She is great with other dogs, kids, everyone.
