On October 29th, two C4SBPs volunteers visited Devore. One dog caught their attention but wasn't available yet - Horace, wearing a "cone of shame" and his face, especially his eyes, looked terrible.

The day he became available, Nov. 1st, Devore said he had to be rescued immediately or he would be put down; somehow he was still alive the next day, when we found out he was on the previous day's "euth list." Our fosters raced over to pick up a sad, scared, sick, but now safe, Horace. He went straight to the vet and is being treated for allergies, infections, and a potentially obstructed tear duct.

Horace's fosters say he is a "real lover of a dog...and wants to be with David and me all of the time...on one of our laps... until he gets bored and wants to play (he's still a puppy!) Horace is also very gentle. He runs up to the cat - and just sniffs her curiously and wants to be friends."

Horace is recovering nicely and will be available for adoption in a few weeks. Please share Horace with your friends in case anyone is looking for a new buddy to love and be loved by.
