Midnight is our little survivor and C4SBP Poster Pup! She was pulled from Devore Animal Shelter in April for the Wings of Rescue Spring to Life airlift. But she was vomiting after everything she ate, and we needed to figure out why. Several vet consultations later, she was diagnosed with Persistent Fourth Aortic Arch, a fairly rare heart condition that restricted her esophagus and did not allow food to pass.

At that point, C4SBP took over Midnight's care, and the entire COUNTRY rallied around Midnight, known as the "puppy who missed her flight." Enough money was raised for Midnight's life-saving surgery. Her surgical team said Midnight was a "perfect candidate" for such an expensive surgery because she is so young, otherwise healthy, and "just such a sweet, happy dog." Her surgical team loves Midnight because no matter how much she was suffering, her tail constantly wagged. 

Today, Midnight is eating well - always ravenously hungry from those months of starving - and gaining weight. She will not grow as large as she should have been. Her surgeon estimates approximately 40 pounds. She has a feeding routine that a devoted family would need to follow. Aside from that, Midnight is finally the spunky, silly, energetic puppy she was always meant to be, and she's looking for her forever family!
