Sweet 1-2 yr old Daphne is ready for adoption!

Terrier mix Daphne was found in the streets of San Bernardino after being hit by a car early February, and a good samaritan brought her to the vet (no broken bones, just some scrapes), took her home, and posted found ads hoping to find owners. She also worked with a group in the neighborhood in which Daph was found. They knocked on doors and searched for owners for some time to no avail.

The good sam reached out to rescue friends who reached out to us, and Daphne became a Cause Kid.

Her scrapes are all healed, and she has been spayed, chipped and vaccinated.

As shy and scared as Daph was when she first came to us, she never once nipped. She hid in a closet for a few days, and came out in her own time. Once she did, she became an affectionate, waggy-tailed snuggle bug.

She is a definite escape artist, and searches the yard for any little nook or cranny to squeeze through. Once she feels at home she’s not as determined, but she is still a door darter and will escape. So her backyard has to be all block wall, and any gates need to be fortified. No wrought iron fencing or wood (she will dig underneath wood). Also no access to the front door because she will dart if someone opens it without thinking. An expen around the door is an easy and effective barrier.

She would do best in a quiet home with no kids or older kids, and would like some young doggy friends to play with.

She is good with cats but does bark and chase them all in good fun in her mind, but the cats don’t always love it.
