Lulu was rescued from the San Bernardino City Shelter. She came into the shelter extremely emaciated and was there for a couple months. The shelter reached out to us, because they couldn't believe such a sweet girl hadn't been rescued yet. That is when Lulu became a Cause dog!
Lulu is very sweet and friendly. She's a big goofy girl who loves her belly rubs and will roll onto her back for anyone. She's also very smart, knows how to sit, and is completely house trained. She has never had an accident in her foster home. Her teeth are in rough shape, due to possibly chewing on electrical cords at some point and possible neglect. Despite this, she's as happy as can be and doesn't have any trouble eating kibble. She has a surprising amount of energy for an older dog, but also prefers to relax for most of the day. She gets along with non confrontational dogs. We haven't had the chance to observe her with children, but think she would be just fine. We also haven't been able to observe her with cats yet, but will be testing her soon.
At the time Lulu was spayed, she also had a mammary tumor removed. It was biopsied and found to be low grade cancerous. However, the vet was very happy with how clean the removal was and is hopeful that no more growths will form. Lulu was also x-rayed to check for other growths and there were none. Still, any adopter would have to be vigilant of any lumps that form and the vet recommended an x-ray every 6-8 months, just to be extra cautious.
Lulu would love a warm bed and lots of love to spend her senior years. If that could be you, please apply to adopt our girl Lulu!
