Tillie was urgent at Western Riverside Shelter due to unknown front leg issues. A networker posted video of Tillie walking on her "elbows." The shelter made her rescue only, unsure if she was injured or needed surgery, so we pulled her. 

It turns out she is not injured, she was just born unique with front leg deformities in both legs. Her elbow bones and joints are totallycalcified so she can't bend them. Surgery was not recommended as it would require breaking up the calcification and repositioning and pinning bones together in the right place, which would be very painful And would most likely not hold. Plus she is in no pain and gets around just fine in her own unique way! She sits up like a Meerkat, and walks on her hind legs like a little Tyrannosaurus at times. She is quite adorable and once she warms up, she is very playful and silly. She is still rather shy but attended her first adoption event last weekend and is ready for a family that will let her warm up on her own terms.
