We call Fred and Ethel the Meatballs. They are the sweetest, roly-poliest hippos. They look like American Bullies - very short, stout, calm, friendly and beautiful! A good Samaritan found them both roaming the San Bernardino streets one night and posted them found. She couldn't hold them so another picked them and is keeping them safe. They were posted Found but owners have not been located. No collars and they were not microchipped. 

We assume they were used for breeding and either escaped or the breeder figured they couldn’t breed anymore and let them go. They are such happy hippos though and have no idea any of this has happened. We’re helping the finder get them fully vetted (spayed/neutered, chipped, vaccinated, etc.) and we are hoping to find the perfect home. We woukd love for them to be adopted together; it’s not required, but first priority will go to those willing to adopt as a pair.
