Oh Max! This beautiful Golden Retriever gentleman was adopted from a shelter almost a year ago by a very loving family, but he is so fixated on the family cat, and believes the cat is prey that needs to be hunted at all hours of the day and night. Despite every training effort they have undergone to get Max to accept the cat as family, he is not having it and they reluctantly surrendered him to Cause for SB Paws so we can find him a home with no cats.

At 90 lbs, he is a hefty and extremely strong Golden who needs some leash training. He has wonderful house manners (as long as he is not cat hunting), and loves to play with other dogs. He can be a bit dominant in play so he needs a large, confident playmate he won’t try to overpower. He also needs an active family experienced with large dogs who would be willing to train him. He needs lots of walks, jogs, and play time to satisfy his energy level. 

And did we mention no cats? ;)
