Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Baby : : Large
Mid April, San Bernardino City Shelter sent out an urgent plea, asking rescues to pick up 3 malnourished underaged pups dropped off in a bucket smelling of gasoline. All pups had chemical burns most likely from the gas. Sisters Lexi and Zoey were healthier than brother Harry and were able to go into a foster home for recovery after their initial vet visit. Lexi is the middle child, weighing in at 13 lbs as of 6/7 (Zoey is 16 and little Harry 9.9). Lexi is a bit shy and unsure at first. Unlike her brother and sister, Lexi likes to sit back a bit and observe. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and give kisses. They were so severely malnourished we could not even tell what breed they were for almost 4 weeks while their bodies healed and gained sufficient weight. Their docs guessed chihuahua or very small Pitbulls. Now that they are healthy, chunky and flourishing, we can tell they’re Pitbull mixes of some sort. They are constantly around kids and dogs of all sizes in their loving foster home, and they love everyone. They haven’t met a cat since we rescued them, but they are young enough to be trained to love kitties. They prefer a home with at least one other friendly, playful medium-sized to big dogs to keep them socialized as they grow older.
